Potsdam

Potsdam -- a city near Berlin which was former residences of Prussian kings and German kaisers. Towards the end of the European theatre of the WWII, Allied conferences were held that charted post-war Europe (divided by US-USSR rivalries) and the plan for the ending of the Pacific theatre, which called for the Soviet entry into the Pacific War, which in turn led to quick ending of the war that also spelled uncertainties for Korea as the U.S. suggested separate division of occupation of Korea to USSR, which eventually developed into the permanent division of Korea.
