The Bund -- the riverfront boulevard lined with old buildings built during the International Settlement era, when European, American and Japanese forcefully carved out their colonial areas in the city. British flag and other foreign flags once flew here, but are now replaced with the PRC flag, with younger generations of China enjoying the view along the Huangpu River.
